Wyoming is the largest suburb in the Grand Rapids area with a population of over 72,000. It is home to both Wyoming Public Schools, Godfrey-Lee Public Schools and Godwin Heights Public Schools. Major employers in Wyoming include Metro Health and Gordon Food Service. As Wyoming is a large city, you will find every type of housing from older homes to new construction, small starter residences to large suburban homes. The southern edge of the city around Metro Health has shown dramatic growth in the last decade and some of the older sections like the bustling 28th Street shopping corridor have reinvented themselves and have abundant choices for all your needs. Wyoming has over 20 beautiful parks including the L.E. Kaufman Golf Course at Palmer Park – one of the finest public golf courses in Michigan.

Our District is located in the city of Wyoming, Michigan, the largest suburb of metropolitan Grand Rapids and the 18th largest city in Michigan. It is a city of well-kept neighborhoods and parks. Recreational and cultural opportunities abound, and the community atmosphere emphasizes family values.
The Wyoming Public School District has a staff of approximately 475 employees, including teachers, administrators, secretaries, paraeducators, food service, maintenance and custodial staff, bus drivers, mechanics, and community education personnel. Our student enrollment is approximately 4,500 students.
Godfrey-Lee Public Schools
Godfrey-Lee Public Schools is a small community school district with an experienced and dedicated staff that offers small class size to a culturally diverse student population. This signifies the commitment to academic excellence shared by the staff and community. The community provides strong support for our schools, as exhibited through partnerships with a network of organizations, local businesses, and higher education institutions.
The Godfrey-Lee community embraces the concept of educating the whole child by focusing on academics, fine arts, character development and civic responsibilities. Enrichment classes are available for children who are academically advanced and also for those in need of academic assistance. In order to meet the individual needs of the student population, and to provide information for teachers and parents, Godfrey-Lee offers a full range of special education services. The district also offers an exemplary alternative education high school and an adult education program.
Lee High School has a population of about 350 students.
Godwin Heights Public Schools
The school district is currently located primarily in the city of Wyoming and consists of five schools – North Godwin Elementary, West Godwin Elementary, Godwin Heights High School, Godwin Learning Center and Godwin Middle School. The high school has a population of around 600 students.
