Comstock Park is a northwestern suburb of Grand Rapids, located in Kent County. This town is best known as the location for Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps baseball team. This is a fast-growing area with many new housing developments and small businesses, including a bustling Alpine Avenue with big box stores galore. In downtown Comstock Park, one can hike for several blocks along a stream and a duck pond and park provide an attraction for the children. There are also many restaurants that are known around the West Michigan area such as Amore, Mill Creek Tavern and the large craft brewer, Perrin Brewing.
Comstock Park Public Schools is a suburban school district located north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It houses approximately 2250 students and is just 9×4 miles in size. The schools are arranged according to the developmental levels of students: Greenridge houses the preschool and ECSE programs, Stoney Creek houses grades K, 1 and 2, Pine Island has grades 3, 4, and 5, Mill Creek has grades 6, 7 and 8, the Comstock Park High School has students in grades 9-12. The school district is housed in 3 townships – Alpine, Plainfield, and Walker. The schools bring the community together.
