“What’s scarier?” The Key Question to Ask Before Making a Move

Are you a current homeowner thinking of buying a new home? Maybe you are in need of more or less space. Maybe you’re moving to a new city or state. Imagine that it isn’t possible for you to close on both homes on the same day. Should you buy a new home first or should you sell your current one first?

One thing that’s going to play into whether you should buy a new home or sell your current home first is this:

You need to make a determination for yourself of what’s scarier – two houses and two payments or zero houses and living in your in-law’s basement. Which one is scarier? If you have an in-law’s basement to go to, that’s great. Maybe you don’t so instead you would need to live at a campground for a period of time. That’s a little different and that is part of what factors into which scenario is scarier.

After you make this decision, you are ready to contact a lender and work with a real estate agent to sell your current home and find a new one!
